Bipolar Depression/Schizophrenia symptoms

Posted by Lao Tzu on August 13, 2012, at 17:08:47

An orthomolecular approach to treating these illnesses involves a number of different vitamins. The key vitamins include, b1, b6, b12, folic acid, vitamins E and C, the fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6), selenium, magnesium. Other vitamins I have used are b3 (Niacin) and b2 (riboflavin), and a multivitamin everyday. One herb I have used again and again for depressive symptoms is Avena sativa, or oatstraw, but there are many herbs with anti-depressant properties. Occasionally, I will use taurine for anxiety. And I have used kava kava in the past for anxiety issues, but kava doesn't seem to mix well with psychotropic drugs, so be careful.
