In reply to Food Intolerances - anyone know whats going on?, posted by Jimmyboy on April 13, 2008, at 12:13:01
With me, a high IGE (Immunoglogulin E, a marker of allergies and reactivity) is high.
I react to a range of foods including yeasts, sulphur based preservatives, Valium(!), tianeptine(!) (just about anything), certainly commercially prepared fast foods, dairy products and so on.There are no easy ways to lower high IGE's (I have been told). Generally the idea is to avoid the offending allergen/stimulus, which probably means a strict diet, and (in my case would mean moving, because one of my problems is mould and this is a humid climate).
I have heard that perilla seed (not oil) will lower high IGE, and also reishi mushroom.
