In reply to Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), posted by Glydin on August 5, 2006, at 12:05:10
Methylsulfonylmethane probably works as a methyl donor although it has never been proven. The molecule has two methyl groups so its quite likely that it increases methylation.
Methylation will increase SAME (S-adenosyl methionine) which is involved in synthesis of dopamine, noradrenalin and melatonin. Your sleepiness may be caused by increased melatonin synthesis.
Usually the fatigue will disappear after 2-4 weeks. For others MSM may actually cause insomnia.
