Skullcap, in ayurvedic terms, is pitta-reducing - pitta having to do with heat and fiery emotions. So it should help with aggression.
I think I read in the "Yoga of Herbs" that it's highly recommended as an aid to better meditation.
For a sedating smoke (I use a waterpipe) a damiana and skullcap mix is good. Whichever way I take it, I find it is one of the "cleaner" herbs, without the body load of something like valerian root.
A couple other pitta-pacifying *cooling* herbs I use a lot are Yellow Dock and Goldenseal. Very subtle but calming. Yellow Dock is famous for blood purification.
