Yes, also find it interesting why Stablon is not available in US. Here's some info that I found about Stablon (RemedyFind site):

QUOTE:
Stablon etc. (Tianeptine) is a new type of antidepressant that works in an opposite manner to the more traditional selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). SSRIs increase the availablity of the neurotransmitter serotonin. In contrast, Tianeptine works to reduce amounts of serotonin, and is classified as a serotonin reuptake enhancer. Tianeptine has been approved for use in some European countries but has not been approved in the U.S..

SSRI antidepressants work by increasing levels of serotonin, one of the neurotransmitter chemicals that carries messages between brain nerve cells. Neurotransmitters are secreted by one cell and picked up by receptor proteins on the surface of another cell. Once the message has been delivered, a neurotransmitter is either destroyed or absorbed into the cell that made it. This process is known as re-uptake. When re-uptake is inhibited, the effect of the neurotransmitter (in this case serotonin) is amplified. For reasons that are yet to be understood, Tianeptine works by increasing or accelerating the re-uptake of serotonin into nerve cells rather than slowing it down. Like other antidepressants Tianeptine appears to decrease depression in about 70% of the individuals who take it. Unfortunately, as it has a short half life of only about 3 hours, Tianeptine typically needs to be taken 3 times a day.
END QUOTE

Interesting. A serotonin reuptake Accelerator rather than Inhibitor. Hmmm.. An SSRA??? Is that why the FDA doesn't want to approve it, that, Gosh, it might come out that everyone's problem isn't related to needing MORE serotonin? Or MORE norepinephrine?

Knowing that I have a highly elevated cortisol problem, I started a regimen of Remeron thru my regular doc (PCP). Some interesting studies showing Remeron's effectiveness at lowering cortisol. Starting with 15 mg for two weeks and then going to 30 mg. Was interesting to note that many people had excellent results with Remeron (at RemedyFind.com site) while others had poor results. Shows me that Remeron likely helped those whose problem was primarily with elevated cortisol - and was contraindicated in cases of non elevated cortisol....

Anyway have been on Remeron for about four days now.

He is thorougly impressed with this drug, which is very high praise coming from him as he is highly suspicious of anything erupting from the illicit romance of Big Pharma and the FDA! He said: he sleeps better, has better mental focus, initially had somewhat of an increased appetite-but has since leveled off (no weight gain),his anxiety is greatly reduced and general sence of confidence increased. He's asked me not to post his source due to the fact that he's concerned that the FDA will try to put the clamps down if too many people are TOO happy! I will say that he gets it from Thailand, it's around $75 dollars for 60 tabs and it takes approx. 2 weeks to arrive. So far the "3 month rule" still applies to this class of drugs, meaning that one can purchase/have in one's possession up to 3 month's supply and it's legal. He said there is typically evidence that the Thai authorities have peeked into the package to assure themselves that it's not an illegal drug but that the blister package has not been folded, spindled or otherwise mutilated.

That alone would make it an interesting alternative to me. Anyone know why it's not approve in US? How long has it been approved in Europe?

I hear that it is, in fact, a tricyclic BUT has none of the side effects of the tricyclics we have here. I also hear that it is VERY good for treating anxiety and yet is not sedating. The question I'm leading up to is,"does anyone know if Stablon and Selegiline can be taken concomitantly?". I like that selegiline is neuroprotective, though I probably take too much to actually get any of those benefits (5mgs per day).

I'm a jazz vocalist, been a music major forever and now that the toxic mold case is settled I feel I once again have something that resembles stability in my life. There's a club here in Sacramento that has a jam session on Monday nights. I initially sang Stormy Monday (blues standard) and the house band insisted that I sing another! We agreed upon laying down a swing groove with a blues chord progression and I just improvised my a** off for three verses worth! The two guitarists did their solos and when I came back in I just inserted the words for Route 66 which IS a blues swing tune! It was SOOOOO much fun! There is NO DRUG or supplement that can equal the endorphins/PEA that was flooding my brain after that! I was stoned for hours from singing two songs! I gues I should add that I do sing rather well and put a lot of feeling into it so the audience response feeds into my endorphin power surge! Okay, I'm not going to say anything else about it except to say I know where I'm going to be on Monday nights from henceforth!

I'm proud to say that I took 500mgs of taurine, 2 Theanine-Serene (which also contains taurine), some B6, 500mgs of Vit. C and some simple carbs and within twenty minutes or so I started relaxing!
