How much SAMe do you take?

I really hate FDA medication, and have never had great responses to most meds. I take SAMe, 1400 mgs per day, but now that's starting to poop out. The literature says 1200 to 1600 mgs per day is the normal range for a serious depression. Has anyone gone higher than 1600?
