http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&list_uids=12365878&dopt=AbstractIt shows that 1 gram per day of EPA was more effective than either 2 grams or 4 grams per day. Since a standard fish oil capsule contains 180 mg of EPA then 6 capsules a day would give you the recommended dosage (6 x 180 = 1080 mg = 1.08 grams).
