Hair test: High copper levels?

Posted by john1022 on December 19, 2003, at 16:31:47

I just had a some blood work, a hair test for toxins and an adrenal test done to try to give me more insight into my condition.

The blood test said I had normal levels of copper. The hair test said I had copper levels way above average and the levels were almost off the charts. The doctor seemed very concerned about this and thought it might have to do with some of the sensitivities to medications and sound in general (hyperacusis) I have been having.

Now I know that our tap water has very high levels of copper, so I stopped drinking it about a month ago and have been drinking spring water. But I am confused that my blood levels of copper are normal.

So my question is, could showering with the tap water/high copper levels have any effect on my well being? Does copper some how get into my system just by showering with water containing abnormally high levels of coppper? Thanks for the help
