1. Be the change you wish to see. You may not have to feel dependent on me. If you want new people to know they don't have to read everyone's posts, you can tell them (while remaining civil). If you want them to feel reassured, you can reassure them.
2. At the same time, I realize there are things I can do that you can't. Lately, I've been trying to separate the sides in conflicts. If two sides are too far apart, giving them separate threads may lessen conflict between them without invalidating either of them.
3. Prospective posters may also be driven away by efforts to drive away particular posters. Sometimes people with mental health issues identify with those who aren't popular.
