I'm seeing something at Babble that I never saw before. I don't think my idea of mandatory trigger flagging is needed. You see, I was stuck in the same distorted world of blocking, as was everyone else. That blocking world. It had to fit in with the other rules, so it had to be stuck to blocks somehow.
But, like I just said, I see something different here, now.
All Bob needs to do is to enable a function that allows:
1. any person to flag their own post
2. others to flag posts that got overlookedThe 2nd one could work either of two ways. A deputy could go and add a missing flag. Or, if a threshold number of people click on some notification button of some sort, a flag could be added to the post.
At the bottom of every message could be a question, with radio buttons, defaulted to no. Do you think this post should have been flagged as a triggering post? Yes No
With enough yeses, the flag would appear automatically.
I think Babblers can manage this without any need for administrative sanction, except in the most extraordinary circumstances. And we do not need to define those extraordinary circumstances, because being extraordinary, that part would be obvious.
