It has been my experience (read here- disclaimer MY experience) that I have noticed Dr. Bob
1)responding sometimes when other haven't to protect a posters feelings
2)overlooking a great deal of animosity in most PBC'd threads before jumping in when it became obvious that neither poster was benefitting from the conversation, and others were beginning to notice and respond poorly (protecting the environment)
and lastly
3) that there has literally been name-calling, the "slights" usually have more to do with the mood of the reader of the slight than that of the writer (I myself have been both reader and writer in these cases....On the other hand of applauding all that Dr. Bob is trying to accomplish with this wonderful outlet for us, not one of us will be "healthy" until we can bear slights and even confrontations, because life is like that.
Maybe we might want to bear in mind that it is possible to help someone BY hurting their feelings, sometimes. That which cuts the deepest is usually the most true.I have learned to take what upsets me the most and work on the WHY, instead of the WHY ME, that I used to focus on.
And, Toph? I went to boarding school AND Montessori (mwah!!)
