Hi Dr. Bob,
I've benefited tremendously from your site for several years now. Although I don't visit regularly, I read some of the posts on the new Psycho-Babble about Faith and would like to voice my opinion. I think this is absolutely the wrong place to discuss religion in such a specific, yet BROAD category because the main focus of this web site is mental health, not religious discussion. Yes, I realize faith is intertwined with every aspect of life. I am a very devout Christian, and I take my faith very seriously. However, the goal of these message boards seems to be aimed toward helping people with mental illness, not attacking/belittling/discounting their beliefs, arguing about religious dogma, discussing different philosophies and practices of faith, or discussing why one faith is better than another. Also, a lot of people unwittingly offend others regarding their faith because they don't know anything about it. I'm sure it's unintentional; nevertheless, it's EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE and only stirs up ANGER, ANXIETY, FEAR, HOSTILITY, and MORE ANGER. Is this productive mentally????
I strongly urge you to re-direct your goals regarding this web site.
Other than that, I love your site, and I'm thankful for all the help you've given so many people.
P. S. I originally posted a message on the Psycho-Babble-about-Faith board, and somehow by following various threads, it wound up posting on the Psycho-Babble-Social (?) board, in case you want to read it. Thanks. Racquel
