Don't laugh - OCD question

Posted by amd on September 14, 2022, at 12:40:26

I have the weirdest, most frustrating tic in the world. It's absolutely ludicrous and I don't blame you for laughing, but I was wondering if there are any meds out other things out there that might help.

When I go to read a book on paper, I have this crazy, OCD urge to rub the pages against my forehead and face. I know, it sounds stupid. It feels stupid. But it's insane, and distracting, and so upsetting. And it's been getting worse. I can read a newspaper no problem. I can read a book on the screen. But a regular, paperback book, it's this completely odd obsessive-compulsive behavior.

What can I do here? It makes me want to cry, because it's interrupting me from one of my favorite activities, which is reading.
