Yes, but only sometimes. I have bipolar depression, and taurine calmed my switching. But it was very, very unreliable.
One med I would highly recommend you try is Lyrica (pregablin) which is off-label, used for social anxiety. Similar effect as taurine, but I found also my body seemed to 'get-used' of the taurine easily. Lyrica, from what I understand, mimics GABA and is bioavailable, unlike the GABA you buy in healthfood stores. I found it way, way more effective than gabapentin (Neurontin). You most certainly won't regret trying it! I have been happily on it for over 12 years.
