There is a phenomenon known as discontinuation rebound improvement. This happens sometimes when you abruptly discontinue or reduce the dosage of some antidepressants. I have had this happen with imipramine and Nardil in particular. I also had it with protriptyline and T3 throid. For me, the improvement lasted for a day or two.
