So recently, I added back Effexor. When I get depressed I do this. Within about a week, I start to feel better. However, after using it for about a month, I start to become ahedonic and get disrupted sleep.
At this stage, I start to feel better coming off the drug (so I do this for a week or two) then repeat the cycle.
If I take a steady dose, I end up feeling numb. Changing this up helps me feel better.
However, I have always been a novelty seeker (in other areas of my life). I have tremendous energy for new tasks, but after the novelty wears off, I become very bored (and resentful) and need to do something different.
One doctor said that this could be indicative of bipolar (which could be true), but I'm not so sure. The idea of doing something new gives me a reason to live. Doing the same thing over and over is akin to death for me.
