I recently had Genetic Testing for response to AD's, with phenotype/genotype classifications as either Normal Metabolizer, Intermediate Metabolizer or Poor Metabolizer for a number of drugs (they included more than just ADs). This is supposed to help inform your doctors in choices of AD's & other meds. However there were discrepancies in Classification of NM and IM between the 2 Research Agencies used to extract data, and no explanations. I've done some of my own research, this field is burgeoning, but apparently there is still much to be learned.
My own research has found it difficult to get definitive answers and/or relevant full text articles.
Interested in hearing from others who have had this testing, if they found benefits in helping them choose ADs, helped to explain adverse affects or non response, etc. Thanks!
