Not sure about generic Nardil but I have different reactions to different generics on other meds. Weight gain is common in Nardil though.
I think reducing the dose is prob worth a try (just watch for depression coming back). I'd you've tried one of the generics you could try the other next time and see if it works more like brand.
The other thing you could try depending on your doctor would be to add some metformin (diabetes med that has been shown to stave off weight gain from many psych drugs). My doc wanted me to get it from my general doctor through so I never tried it in spite of having some minor med related weight gain over the years.
I know the frustration about putting on weight. One day theyll figure out which gut bug would help or which receptor to target to make fat "brown" so it burns off rather than store. (then they can get the baldness cure ;)
