TD w/ the 'atypicals'

Posted by Christ_empowered on November 20, 2017, at 8:01:26

I take Abilify. I'm down to 20mgs, which seems to be a good dose for me. I'm getting all the benefits of a tranquilizer w/ less cognitive impairment and sedation than I had at 30, plus I seem to have a good bit more "emotional range."

I tolerate the Abilify well, with 0 EPS, 0 TD, no stiff gait, etc. I've never had a problem w/ akathisia on Abilify, although I did experience akathisia w/ Zyprexa and Seroquel, and some uneasiness w/ twitching on risperidone.

do any of you have information on the relative risks of TD with the newer tranquilizers? My own hunt for data has been...less than successful. I do the Orthomolecular protocol w/ the tranquilizer, and the "alternative health" people claim that helps reduce the TD risk a good bit. I do find that my anxiety and agitation are vastly improved, and my dips into depression are less frequent and less severe.

thanks for any information you can share. :-)
