Wikipedia:"Serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitors (SARIs) are a class of drugs used mainly as antidepressants, but also as anxiolytics and hypnotics. They act by antagonizing serotonin receptors such as 5-HT2A and inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and/or dopamine."
I'm confused (easily as of late) don't serotonin antagonists, like the meds you mentioned, increase levels of serotonin? I'm suggesting my serotonin levels may be too high, leading to the anxiety and social phobia that I feel. Especially when taking SSRI's.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
