It may be sedating, but its actions on serotonin reuptake are similar, if not the same as other SSRIs.
Whether a medication is sedating usually has to do with their separate mechanisms of action on other receptors-for instance Mirtazapine is sedating not for its serotogenic properties but because it antagonizes histamine receptors.
I don't know why luvox is sedating to some. I don't find it sedating.
