Added 800 mg carbamazapine, switched to 12 mg Inve

I was on 900 mg Lithium, 160 mg of Geodon and 100 mg of Luvox. I became manic and added 800 mg of carbamazapine, but remained manic. Switching my 160 mg of Geodon to 12 mg of Invega curbed the remaining mania.
Why did switching from 160 mg of Geodon to 12 mg of Invega calm my mania?
