Just as is the case with most psychotropics, there is some variability between people as to what dosage of Lamictal works best for them. In my estimation, the majority of people do best at 200 mg/day. However, some people need 300 mg/day or, rarely, higher. If you decide to reduce your dosage of Lamictal, I recommend that you do it in 25 mg decrements. A more rapid reduction is likely to trigger a rebound depression that, although temporary, would only serve to fool you into thinking that you still need the higher dosage.
