he's a 'social drinker' i don't think your method of increasing alcohol is productive.
you sound like every alcoholic i know. not saying you are indeed an alcoholic but go to an aa meeting and say what you just said.
i do know one thing..you passed social drinking somewhere in the past. if you still drink like a fish you now have another monkey on your back.
mixing meds with booze is very common then people say the meds don't work so now they just drink. but they forget to tell their doctor how much drinking they are doing. it's a slippery slope. when talking meds and alcohol is totally safe you have to know that nothing is totally safe. you take powerful meds to beat depression and anxiety when alcohol increases both.
here's the catch. some people can drink 4 beers a day and not be an alcoholic. another person has two glasses of wine every sunday night with dinner but everyday they can't wait for sunday. they are alcoholics. i don't claim to be an expert so consult an addiction expert. preferably a recovering alcoholic. the last thing you want to do is cross the line.there is no rest for the messenger until the message is delivered.
