Nefazodone withdrawal symptoms

Posted by Noa on May 6, 2014, at 17:17:12

I had 4 days without Nefazodone (my dose is 500 mg) because I couldn't find a pharmacy that carried the dosage I needed and it was the weekend, etc. I have been feeling awful. Today I finally got it and took a dose 6 hours ago (an unusual time of day--I usually take it before bed but today it was mid-day) and still feel lousy. Nausea, mostly, but also 'cloudy-headed'.

The first couple of days I was ok, except for sleeping--needed extra ativan to sleep and even then sleep was not straight through. The past two nights were incrasingly worse. Last night, into this morning, I was nauseous in my sleep, nightmarish, feeling drugged and unable to wake up, etc. When I got out of bed I was really nauseous and unsteady. Have been taking it very easy all day. Managed to drive myself to the pharmacy to pick up the nefazodone and take it around noon. No driving since then--don't feel I can. Had a salt craving so I ate some potato chips and drank some water...was ok for a while but then more nausea. Thanks to my dogs, I did get out and take a couple of easy walks, which felt good, but afterward, the nausea returned (maybe also because I had a glass of water afterward?). Been feeling like sleeping but am avoiding it for 2 reasons---I think I'll be nauseaous if I lie down and I want to wait and take my regular dose and go to bed in a few hours.

How long until the withdrawal symptoms subside?
