I think this person managed it better: benzo + stimulant prn
"The stimulant removes the root cause
of the fear. In my case, its impact on the
root cause (dopamine system) outweighs any
increased reactivity in the reactive system.
"
"
My dosages depend on the kind of situation I am faced with. For the 'reactive' side (see post above)
my 'baseline' is 1mg clonazepam or 0.5mg alprazolam or 40mg
Inderal. I will often alternate between these meds. The benzos create a general feeling of calmness and so are
better suited to less 'acute' situations. The other advantage of
alternating beta blockers and benzos is that the benzos need to be
taken less frequently, hence boosting their efficacy when you
do take them. I might take a beta-blocker one week
and benzos the next. For a very acute situation (eg. big presentation) I might take 1mg
clonazepam and 40mg inderal. This completely shuts down
all forms of anxiety.Regarding vyvanse, I take between 30mg to 45mg. At 30mg
the effect is subtle (yet still powerful). At 45mg it starts
bordering on euphoria. I am very wary of any kind euphoric effects
since I worry that the euphoric effect will become the goal rather
than the less extreme pro-social effect."
