When someone says their Depression didnt respond..

Posted by poser938 on January 14, 2014, at 15:42:51

When someone says their Depression didn't respond to an AD, do they mean they felt no effects at all from that antidepressant? Or do they mean they felt no *beneficial* effects from that Med? And that perhaps all they experienced were side effects.

I'm on a low dose of Lexapro, 5mg, for 2 weeks now. I haven't taken an AD in a while, but the last 2 that I took (Tianeptine and Prozac, both kicked in on the 10th day. But now I'm on my 14th day of Lexapro and even though about 30 minutes after taking it for a few minutes I feel like a weight has been taken off my emotions, this only lasts for a few minutes and I've not actually felt the actual effect of it, such as the actual antidepressant effect. I'm expecting a numbing effect on my emotions, and I feel that's what I need at the moment to sort of give my dopamine system a rest after some long-term detrimental effects I've experienced from Mirapex
