Very good advice. Also, you can buy excellent BP machines at some pharmacies. It must have a proper cuff for the upper arm, the others are useless.
Bacon is normally OK so long as the meat was entirely fresh, properly stored and well within its expiry date. Freshness of meat/fish is very important with MAOIs because degradation of the proteins in meat is what produces tyramine, this is why smoked, pickled, dried, preserved (etc) meats and fish are not allowed. Same with meat/fish or yeast extracts eg. Marmite.
Some people are more sensitive to tyramine than others, it's certainly a learning curve.

The few times this has happened, my BP was elevated so that is scarey knowing you could have a stroke if your BP is really in a dangerous range. The headache is usually severe and I have had visual changes and dizziness.
