My doc drew tons of blood from me because she says I'm showing all signs of an autoimmune disorder, possibly drug induced lupus accompanied by Raynauds Syndrome with Rheumatoid Arthirits, she thinks caused by Trileptal. Before Trileptal I did try lithium for a while & Twgretol, which are both on the drug induced lupus list.
I'm missing an enzyme in my liver and am a very slow metabolizer (a risk factor of DIL) and meds build up in my system.
She's concerned about Trileptal. She said the vision loss (blurry, poor vision), cloudy, low urine output, no appetite and weight loss, etc. should have alerted my pdoc. My pdoc just said, "Hmm". Should I be concerned about Klonopin? Been taking it for years. What about Geodon?
I've never heard of this. I found Tegretol & Trileptal on the DIL list, but couldn't find any info on Klonopin. Anti-seizure meds are on the list. Wasn't Klonopin originally an anti-seizure med? What about Geodon? I have some swelling, maybe from the Trileptal or Geodon. Who knows. Abilify & Risperdal caused terrible swelling. Swelling =some joint pain.
I'm going to be left with a whole bunch of Xanax as my med!
She says if it is drug induced it should go away after the offending drug is stopped and I should be on the lowest doses of ALL meds due to the build up in my body. This sucks.
Anyone know about this? I was hoping it was just a sodium problem with Trileptal :(
On the brighter side, it will be nice to see again if she and the Rheumatologist wean me off Trileptal. Yea, this sucks.
