Seroquel does much more than just antagonizing D2 receptors. It inhibits noradrenaline reuptake... an action that is shared by a lot of antidepressants. It antagonizes 5HT2A and 5HT2C receptors, which leads to a greater release of dopamine and norarenaline in the prefrontal cortex. It antagonizes alpha2 receptors, which for example is shared by the antidepressants Remeron and Tolvon. It does something at the 5HT7 receptor, which might also contribute to its antidepressant action and if I recall correctly it acts as apartial agonist at the 5HT1A receptor as the antidepressant viibryd does too.
