If the thoughts are intrusive and recurrent, they qualify as OCD thoughts.

The sentiment that your suicidal thoughts are masking more hideous thoughts is a classic example of an OCD thought. The thought is intrusive and the fact you wonder about it makes it a recurrent thought.

How often do you think of suicide?

Suicidal thinking has been the only bit of OCD I haven't been able to shake.
