That article is a complete mess, there's just no gettling around it. Though one (out of a dozen other sloppily organized) idea brought up is the consequences of categorizing disorders according to an everyday nomenclature ("anxiety", "depression" are terms the non-neurotic can identify with, and which lead them to think they have the capacity to empathize the higher extremes from which the neurotic suffers.) Why not bring back the older, slightly less colloquial pre 20th century terms like melancholia and hysteria, that more greatly impede subjective identification?
