It's hard to tell how things will turn out a second or third time around on the same med. Sometimes it works out great, and sometimes it feels like a different med. Side effects can vary.
I do think it makes sense that if you feel you must go back to meds to go first to whatever winner you had in your history. Zoloft it is.
I guess my only caution would be that I strongly feel dispensing any ssri without a counter-balance NE drug does 3 negative things....1.slows potential kick-in time; 2.tolerance, poop out, happen sooner; 3.robs the patient of the full potential; 4. produces more intensity of any post-ssri syndrome symptoms.
Just my opinions anyway.
With that in mind, right from the start, I think it would be a good idea to put a smidgen of a NE med in there with the zoloft. That would include things like savella, nortriptyline, desipramine, sometimes stimulants ritalin or adderall.
But of any single thing I could say on restarting the zoloft, this would be the most important in my mind. That is, get some rhodiola rosea and take it every day along with the zoloft.
