I've been taking it off and on for a few years. I feel somewhat calmer when I'm on it, somewhat less depressed. It makes it harder for me to fall asleep when I take it at bedtime, and my dreams are more vivid, so maybe it would help your hypersomnia. Though some people on LDN report that it makes them sleep longer and more deeply. And others say that LDN only affected their sleep for a week or two after each increase in dosage.
