Hello. I saw Scott's thread above. He is actually not the only one trying minocycline for depression. I am a few weeks into a trial and have been waiting for a while to see how things went before posting.
I've had a good several years' run with Lamictal and Abilify, but things have slipped in the last year and I wanted to regain lost ground. I've been on many ADs and ACs, so there weren't too many desirable options.
Minocycline was selected because of its potential to boost the action of Lamictal. So far, it's been extremely effective. We're kind of feeling our way with dosage and timing, but my experience of the first few weeks is really encouraging. My mood and motivation have improved. Cognition seems a little better too. I'm cautiously optimistic that this terrific response will continue.
Stay tuned.
