> I have been on (mostly) and off celexa / citalopram for the past ten years. I've gone off it (with the usual unpleasant dizziness/brain shocks) a number of times, and then back on it later, and the side effects have always been limited to the common sexual and appetite/weight gain ones.

I went off it in 2011 to try Viibryd for six months, which I ended in December.

I decided to try lowering it from 20 to 10 to no avail. Even at 10 mg I can't sleep through the night and wake up constantly throughout the night and spend long periods trying to get back to sleep. I think I am going to have to go off it, this is really intolerable.

I suspect that the leading cause might be the generic manufacturer. I have experienced noticeable changes when changing generic forms of citalopram. I have always done well on the generic from Amneal (which was available from Walgreens). I had considerable adverse effects when I tried a version from Torrent.J
