So I'm curious of y'alls input of my situation.
I was diagnosed with BP2 in January after having taken Zoloft for "depression" and going hypomanic. I started cutting, had high anxiety, couldn't sleep, talked a lot, and felt like my skin wasn't a part of my body. (The doctors evetually told me this was hypomania.) I eventually went off Zoloft and tried to kill myself, and ended up in a Psych ward. They diagnosed me with BP2.
I read earlier that it takes 7+ years for a bipolar diagnosis, and yet mine came in a manner of weeks. Do you think it was a rash diagnosis or instigated by the Zoloft?
Looking back, there were earlier signs of hypomania, just not in the same ways. I've never had anxiety in the rushed ways that I've had since starting medications.
I'm 21. I don't want the rest of my life to be determined by this if it doesn't have to be. But if this is really happening, I want to understand it.
