I got my moderate hearing loss and tinnitus the good old-fashioned way, drumming in rock bands. A blaring monitor to my left and rim shots took their toll on my left ear especially.
Thankfully drummers are very careful these days to protect their hearing.
I have some weird auditory hallucinations sometimes. Sounds like there's a TV on in another room, very faint. I can tune it out for the most part. I've heard that tinnitus can cause it. Not sure.
