yeah it just makes it so difficult when all a psychiatrist has to go on is what we tell them. and since we are then "mentally ill patient" and he is the "professional" when it comes down to it they can have almost complete control of us. i never would have believed many of the horror stories and "conspiracy theories" about psychiatrists and drug companies if i had never stepped into the world of psychiatric medicine in 2005. i went in to treat my "mild depression" and now 7 years later i am almost completely dysfunctional. i didn't know it was the meds doing it at 1st but i thought i had developed alzeimers diseases at the young age of 18 because my memory had become so bad. my emotions were becoming more and more messed up too. i think i have an atypical kind of brain, though i have been reading more and more stories like mine from others on forums. but the meds have had some long term effects on my brain. and when i mention this to any of the psychiatrists i have seen they tell me i'm just delusional about it. one of them wanted me to sign a paper stating that i am "psychotic and delusional" before he would prescribe me anything other than an SSRI. i would love to get completely away from psychiatry, but now that my brain is so dysfunctional i have kept coming back to it.
