Hello, I'm new to this forum and never used anything like this before. My first message is a bit long and appreciate your patience for reading.
I'm on Seroxat (Paroxetine by GSK) for 18 years. I switched 5 years ago to the generic product. I'm suffering from panic attacts and general anxiety problems which started when i was 26 years after breaking up a relation. I've built a good carreer within the chemical industry. Before I started using medication 18 years ago I was unable to work and had a limited social life. The medication changes my life completely; I went from hel to heaven within a few weeks.
1/2 year ago my problems started out of the bleu again after 18 years of zero problems.
My shrink advised my to change back to Seroxat (instead of the generic product) and reduce the amount of stress in my profession. Now, 6 months later, i have almost zero stress and can cope with my problems. My dosis increased from 20 to 40 mg but I still feel the medication is not as good as it was; even with 40 mg I still have anxiety and feel depressed.
Is there anyone who can advise me if I should try to switch medication? Can it be Paroxetine lost it's effect over the years?
