Maybe its stress breaking through? I mean, I take 15 Abilify and 200 Lamictal, and I still have breakthrough problems. I had breakthrough problems at 30 Abilify, too, so I don't think I need an increase in the antipsychotic.
Some people (I want to say 30%, not sure though) don't even respond to antipsychotics. I mean, I'm sure they experience sedation and what not, but the voices and core symptoms don't get any better. Then some people experience "poop out" where the antipsychotic stops working. For me, I always try to remember that there's really no indication that the dopamine blockers are "fixing" anything; its all about suppressing symptoms with as few side-effects as possible.
So, maybe its breakthrough stress. Or maybe you just have problems that won't respond entirely to an antipsychotic all of the time. It could also have something to do with your recent reduction in antipsychotic dosage. Your brain adapt to antipsychotics (and other psychiatric meds), so it makes sense that with a dosage reduction you might have some problems for while, during which time your brain is simply adjusting to reduced sedation and D2 blockade. Also, wellbutrin can cause some problems--increased psychosis, agitation, anxiety--that antipsychotics are used to treat. Maybe when you drop the wellbutrin you'll get more consistent results from the zyprexa?
