Is there a particular theme or event associated with your sadness? How can you be sure that these brief depressions are biological rather than psychological or emotional?

When my system is free-running and untreated, I experience brief periods of worsening of depression that last for three days. They occur every few weeks. Perhaps there is a cyclicity to your illness that manifests as monthly episodes of depression. On the other hand, you might be slightly underdosed on your medication, which might lead to breakthrough depression, especially during times of stress.
