I've tried numerous anti-depressants for treatment for life-long depression ranging from moderate to crippling.
I've had a wide range of side-effects from mild to moderate, but I have never had a single positive effect. Most recently I took Lexapro for several months and found that I was sort of emotionally dead -not feeling the horrible sadness but never having a good day either. I was unable to feel much of anything at all. My County Psychiatrist considered that a sign that the Lexapro was "working" .
Frustrated, I stopped taking everything. I've been trying L-Tryptophan but am now curious about Deplin.
I am wondering if anyone has experience (good or bad) with
1) Over-the-counter L-Methylfolate (vs. Rx for Deplin)
2) Combining either of the above with L-TryptophanI am currently not taking any other meds. Unfortunately, I do not have insurance and I'm limited to County Psychiatrists so I'm sort of on my own to research alternates to the crappy stuff they have prescribed to me.
