Spondylosis is a condition where the nerves between the vertebrae start getting compressed. Many people just develop it as their bodies age. Usually it needs to be diagnosed by a neurologist. If your back pain is due to nerve damage instead of damage to or inflammation of the bones and joints - then amitrip in low doses is definitely worth a shot. It's been shown to be very effective with the most difficult neuropathic pain like fibromyalga and diabetic neuropathy. If you're having pain and insomnia then amitrip at night should definitely be on the cards. I know it's an old drug and not much money to be made from it now but it's still very good - if you want I can send you some articles you can show to your doc/T. No other tricyclic has the painkilling properties of amitrip.
I don't have to deal with any chronic physical pain, thankfully, but I am hyperglycemic and very overweight and out of shape due to years of inactivity because of social phobia. So no matter what this disease will impact your physical well-being significantly. Have both physical and mental pain can be overwhelming, especially when there are other people who depend on you, but I know you're strong fb and your family knows what a great wife and mother you are. Everybody here knows what a great person you are. It seems a rule that in life the most sensitive, caring people are the ones who have to suffer the most. But you will get through this.
