Bipolar Meds

This fall I was put on geodon for a manic episode. I developed a mouth twitch (tardive). My doctor said I will not be able to use any anti-psychotics. I can't use antidepressants because they send me into mania. My big problem is depression. Any suggestions? My doctor wants to do ect but I feel that will only be a temporary fix.
