In reply to lyrica for GAD, posted by linkadge on October 11, 2010, at 15:13:08
I tried Lyrica at various doses (25mg- 900 mg/day) to treat GAD.
Found that my okay dose was 50mg at night, and 25mg PRN, taking no more than 100mg/day.
Higher doses (150-300) made me absolutely euphoric, a lot like alcohol intoxication without the sick feeling; this effect would last for over 24 hours. Unlike gabapentin, I didn't notice any tolerance building during the month I trialled it.
I wound up ditching pregabalin, as clonazapam alone works much better for my GAD and I'm not tempted to misuse it. For me, Lyrica's benefits were marginal at best.
> pregabalin is approved in europe for GAD (?) Any experiences with this medication for GAD?
