Hi there,

I'm having spectacular success on a very tiny dosage of selegiline. I've been on it now for about a month at 3-4mg/day, and I'm having an almost complete remission from my BPD symptoms: hypersensitivity to criticism and rejection, cognitive distortion, angry outbursts, self-hatred, unstable mood, chronic anxiety, social phobia, anxiety attacks, and suicidal depression. My relationships are stabilizing.

I have also suffered from Nightmare Disorder my entire life, and that is gone as well. The only other time I was able to manage my Nightmare Disorder was while on an SSRI.

My brother has been taking a combo of selegiline and prami for about six months, and also has had great results. He takes the selegiline in the morning because it has more of a mood-brightening, performance-enhancing and alertness effect, whereas the prami seems to have more of a sedative effect (perhaps paradoxical?)-- but he wakes up feeling amazing.

He is also on very low dosages of both drugs-- about 5mg of selegiline and 3mg of prami, and that has been the key for both of us. We get all the positive effects, and none of the side effects.

We have both tried SSRIs in the past, with mixed results. I took Paxil at 10mg for 9 years. I think it killed my dopamine receptors. It helped with my anxiety and depression and nightmare disorder, but it did not help at all with my BPD symptoms. And, I still had occasional anxiety attacks on it (but if I took more than 10mg, I felt very flat and emotionally disconnected).

Also, my memory was trashed and I was unable to feel strong positive emotions such as happiness, much less joy.

I feel like the selegiline is healing my dopamine receptors and stabilizing my dopamine level, possibly for the first time in my life. I am THRILLED. I am able to feel joy. People even respond differently to me.

The fact that such low dosages work for both me and my brother might be something genetic-- specific to our brain chemistry or metabolism. I don't know. All I know is that it is working incredibly well, and I am thrilled. A month ago, I just wanted to die. I feel like a completely different person.
