I had the same reaction. When I took parnate, I could barely stay awake for a few hours. It was an extremely strong sedative. I think some people have this reaction. For some people the sedation lessens or disappears, but I had it the entire time I used parnate, even at higher doses, although it was reduced the more I used.

Maybe you could try another Maoi. I use emsam, and don't have any difficulty with sedation.
