Acetaminophen, ibuprofen and naproxen are fine as are most narcotic pain relievers. With the exception of meperidine(Demerol), Tramodol and any others that affect serotonin. All over the counter cold and cough medicines are NO-NOs, with the exception of straight guaifenesin. I've found that most of these over the counter meds are worthless anyway. I really don't miss them at all. I don't have a list, but I just throughly research any medication before taking with Nardil. This includes anything prescribed by doctors or recommended by pharmacists.
To use a MAOI, you just have to take your education to the next level. There are so many doctors, etc. that know nothing about these meds. What they don't know, can kill you! This is very rare, rare, rare. I will bet that almost all of the long term MAOI users on this board know 10 times more about their medication than 95% of the MDs out there. There is just not enough time for most MDs to become experts on the seldom used medications. They end up referring to the PDR, which we all know is often wrong when it comes to MAOIs. As users of these powerful drugs, we have to make up for that ourselves.
