Yeah, been there. If you ramp up an anticonvulsant mood stabilizer, it'll just dumb you down. You might be less anxious, but its largely b/c you're also less aware and your cognition is being impaired.
What's the trileptal for? Some kind of bipolar? Does the neurontin help with the anxiety at all?
